This Privacy Policy explains how Bharath Silks & Sarees (Proprietor: Mohammad Sameer Moosa), trading online as Nilouri (“we”, “us”), collects, uses and protects your personal information when you visit nilouri.com or buy from us. We handle your data in line with Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

1. Information we collect

  • Order details: your name, delivery and billing address, phone number, email address and the items you order.
  • Account details: your login email and password (stored in encrypted form) if you create an account.
  • Messages and sign-ups: what you send through our contact form, and your email if you join our newsletter.
  • Payment information: payments are handled by Razorpay. We receive confirmation and a reference of your payment, but we do not see or store your card, UPI or bank details.
  • Technical data: your device and browser type, IP address and pages visited, collected through cookies and similar technologies.

2. How we use your information

  • To process and deliver your orders, send order and shipping updates, and handle support requests.
  • To issue invoices and meet our tax and accounting obligations, including GST.
  • To prevent fraud and keep the site secure.
  • To send you our newsletter and offers, only if you have signed up. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it.

We process your data with your consent, or where it is needed to fulfil your order or to comply with the law.

3. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the store, and only as needed for their service:

  • payment processors (Razorpay) to take payment and process refunds;
  • courier and logistics partners to deliver your order;
  • our website hosting and email providers;
  • analytics and advertising tools (such as Google or Meta), if and when we enable them, to measure and improve our marketing.

We may also disclose information where required by law or by a court or government authority.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and your browser’s local storage to keep your bag working, remember your wishlist and preferences, keep the site secure, and understand traffic. You can control or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the site, such as the shopping bag and checkout, will not work without them.

5. How long we keep your data

We keep order and invoice records for as long as tax and accounting laws require (currently up to eight years under GST rules). Other information is kept only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, and then deleted or anonymised.

6. How we protect your data

The site uses HTTPS encryption, and access to customer data is limited to people who need it. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

7. Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it (where we are not legally required to keep it), or withdraw your consent. You can also nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf if you are unable to. To do any of this, email us at the address below. We will respond within a reasonable time.

8. Children

Our site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us data, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. International transfers

Our hosting and some service providers may store or process data outside India. We choose providers that protect data appropriately.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page with its “last updated” date.
